The end of the school year is drawing near! (But who's counting?) :) We have been crazy busy ever since Spring Break (which I now realize I never blogged about!!! Will do that next!) with preparation for Grace's spring dance recital, spring soccer for Grace, t-ball for Sam and... field trips!! I was so excited to be able to chaperone for both Sam and Grace's last field trips of the year.
First up was Sam. We headed to the Newport Aquarium in Newport, KY just across the river from Cincinnati. The kids rode a chartered bus with their teachers while the chaperones had the luxury of carpooling in our own vehicles without 54 kindergarteners. :) The kindergarten teachers had been discussing aquatic life with the kids for a few weeks leading up to the trip, so it was fun to follow them around as they pointed out creatures they had learned about.

A week later was Grace's field trip to Salato Wildlife Center in Frankfort, KY. The kids were excited to pet a snake and a turtle (REALLY excited about that poor little turtle...he almost got trampled before he was rescued from the circle by the ranger!), pretend to fish and check out all the wildlife outdoors, including a real KY wildcat!

A good time was had by all...even if Mom was slightly exhausted afterward!
