food revolution?

Over the past couple of years, my anxiety level over the food my family is consuming has been on the rise.  I just can't stand the idea of my family consuming chemicals that shouldn't naturally be found in foods.  And I always wonder what exactly contributed to Sam's multiple food allergies.  It's been a struggle, though, as breaking old habits is difficult for all of us...even the wee ones.  They can't quite understand why I won't buy them the neon squeeze yogurt tubes anymore and instead purchase the organic, less colorful option.  But, they're getting used to some of mama's grocery choices.  And there are some changes that they don't even know I've made, like all organic produce.

Over the weekend, I started researching the Feingold Diet Program.  I think it might be worth considering in our family, as it covers areas that my slow organic transition might be missing.  Plus, it could show us benefits on the behavioral end with the kids.  I'm wondering if anyone out there has ever tried it or has any insight into it?  I'm assuming that my husband will be rolling his eyes as soon as he reads this (right, Honey?), so I'd like to be armed with as much information as possible when we sit down to talk.

For now, until I decide to make the plunge or not into the above program, I will be taking tips from this great food blog that I found: http://www.ourfamilyeats.com/  What seems to be working in terms of safe foods for your families?
