New addition...

Somebody deserves a little blog space.  Meet William Leo...

Can't believe our little man is already 2+ months old!  Life currently is wonderfully chaotic...and this guy learned very quickly how to go with the flow, since his older siblings are BUSY!  More posts to come on our little Will and the rest of the family, but I won't promise when or how frequently!

Oh my!

I've been driving by this sign this week on my way to drop the kids off at camp. I am still dumbfounded that someone would create a sign actually showing an animal defecating! So wrong! The kids are having a great time at camp this week, though! I'm having a pretty productive week, but am a little jealous of them at the same time...I'd much rather be spending my days on an island having fun like them :)

Guest blog!

Our baby girl turned 6 almost three weeks ago!  Of course, she always picks the unique themes...this year: Hawaiian Luau!  Go check out her party highlights that I shared over at Kuzak's Closet today as part of Mandy's Kids' Week series: http://blog.kuzakscloset.com/2012/06/kids-week-hawaiian-luau-party.html

food revolution?

Over the past couple of years, my anxiety level over the food my family is consuming has been on the rise.  I just can't stand the idea of my family consuming chemicals that shouldn't naturally be found in foods.  And I always wonder what exactly contributed to Sam's multiple food allergies.  It's been a struggle, though, as breaking old habits is difficult for all of us...even the wee ones.  They can't quite understand why I won't buy them the neon squeeze yogurt tubes anymore and instead purchase the organic, less colorful option.  But, they're getting used to some of mama's grocery choices.  And there are some changes that they don't even know I've made, like all organic produce.

Over the weekend, I started researching the Feingold Diet Program.  I think it might be worth considering in our family, as it covers areas that my slow organic transition might be missing.  Plus, it could show us benefits on the behavioral end with the kids.  I'm wondering if anyone out there has ever tried it or has any insight into it?  I'm assuming that my husband will be rolling his eyes as soon as he reads this (right, Honey?), so I'd like to be armed with as much information as possible when we sit down to talk.

For now, until I decide to make the plunge or not into the above program, I will be taking tips from this great food blog that I found: http://www.ourfamilyeats.com/  What seems to be working in terms of safe foods for your families?

New York, New York...

While I've been sitting in the heat watching my belly get bigger and bigger, my friend Mandy has been exploring NYC this past week.  Her posts have totally left me longing for a few days to explore the city!  If you don't follow her, check out her posts from this week here: http://blog.kuzakscloset.com/

We hit third trimester this week!  Time to whip this house into shape to get ready for baby boy!

up to speed...

Well, it's been a jam-packed few months!  A few highlights to bring everyone up to speed:
  • Kris started his new job in MI on November 1st of last year, while the kids, pets and I stayed in KY to keep the house nice and squeaky clean for showings until it sold (yikes...that was a challenge!).
  • We took a leap of faith and made an offer on a house in MI at the beginning of December, and started praying for minimal double mortgage payments!
  • We came to a purchase agreement on the KY house on Christmas Eve! (Merry Christmas to us!)
  • We found out we were expecting baby #3 on New Year's Eve!
  • January was a whirlwind of morning sickness, moving prep and good-byes to all of our dear Lexington friends.
  • We moved into the new house in MI (with a few snags!) at the end of January.
  • Sam turned 7 the very next weekend.
  • February and March was a blur of more morning sickness, adjustments to our new digs/city/state, and family visits (they all seem pretty excited that we're so close, which we love!)
And that brings us to April, where we've seen morning sickness finally back down, and enjoyed a nice spring break and Easter weekend.  Now that I'm feeling a little more human and the move is settling down, I'm hoping to actually pick back up with the blogging!  More updates to come...hopefully soon!  :)

So many updates to come, so for now, we'll just say Happy Easter! :)
