Molly & Gordon — new to the shop

Photography. Who knew, right? I was pretty happy with these shots when I started sorting through my photos from MI, so I decided to go ahead and post them to the shop and see if there was any interest.
You can check these out on the shop here. Let me know what you think!

Over the past few weeks, I've been working on designs for birthday party invitations and birth announcements that I'm working on getting posted to my shop. I'm also pleased to announce that I have created a Facebook page for Molly & Gordon, so please check it out, "LIKE" it, and suggest it to your friends. I am updating there as I upload new products and designs and I plan on doing some contests down the road, so you won't want to miss out! This week, I've added the following birthday party invitations. Click on the links below the photos to place an order.

More to come...please check back often! I will also post very soon with a family update...we've been up to our ears in field trips, tball, soccer, dance and travel!

the big news

There have been big changes around here over the past few weeks. I'm just going to skip the long story and say that I'm now working independently, from the comfort of my own house...and LOVING it! I'm slowly starting to grow my business and have a long list of plans to continue that growth, which includes expanding my Etsy shop. As I post new items, I will be updating here, so watch for them. Also, a Facebook business page will be in my future, and I will also post a link to that here. For now, click here for a link to a brief online portfolio of my work. If you are in need of design work, please contact me, and if you know anyone looking for a designer, please feel free to pass the link along to them. Thanks!

my new favorite spot in the house

I just completed this little display at the top of the stairs in our house. Well, ALMOST completed...I finally painted the little chest that I had stripped and left sitting in our garage eons ago. Now, seven years and one move later, I finally picked a paint color and got it finished and into the house...only, I seem to have misplaced the hardware that I had taken off oh so many years ago. If I had a local Anthropologie, I would probably have already bought new handles and have them on the thing. The fact that the closest one is in Cincinnati and that I have no plans to head up that way in the coming weeks, though, means that it sits handle-less until I come across the original glass hardware somewhere in some discreet spot in the garage or make it up to Cincinnati...whichever comes first. (I know what you're thinking...internet shopping...I know, I know...but I have a thing about picking that kind of stuff out in person.)

The prints on the wall above the chest are something I put together this week to showcase the birth dates of each of the kids. Since I pretty much suck at keeping a baby book (hello, why do you think I started blogging?), I thought these would be a nice keepsake for them to hang in their homes once they grow up and fly the coop. I've also made these available as custom pieces on my Etsy shop...click here to check it out.

my first sale!!

I've decided that Facebook is a beautiful tool. The day I posted my status update there to announce that I had opened up an Etsy shop, an old high school friend contacted me to place an order for her daughter's room! And I couldn't have asked for an easier first customer. DeAnna e-mailed me pictures of Reece's new big girl room and bedding and basically said "go for it". After having her choose from three rough sketches, I got to work on the finished product. It shipped today and I hope Reece loves it! I'll be adding it to my shop tonight to make it available as a customizable piece. If you'd like to see my other available pieces, click here.
