celebrating the big 0-4

Well, Grace has been working really hard at making a career out of celebrating her 4th birthday. And has been succeeding.

It all started a few weeks ago, when my parents came down to deliver her b-day present from them.

Then, the weekend of the recital, we had a birthday celebration with the family who was able to be here for the big event. She picked a Scooby Doo theme, and we shared dinner (a bbq which had to include hot dogs -- picked by the birthday girl) and chocolate cupcakes, and opened presents.
Then this weekend, we had friends from Ohio come visit for the weekend (a separate post will come soon about this!), and their little girl just turned 4 a couple of weeks ago, so we made cupcakes for them. After they left on Monday, Grace's actual birthday, Grace decided that she would like to go out for ice cream for her birthday. Who can argue with that? So, after dinner, it was off to Baskin Robbins.

Whew! And I'm sure you're thinking that must be it, but, oh no...next Saturday is the friend b-day party with some classmates. I know Grandma Pat is always teaching us to extend the celebration as long as possible, but I'm thinking maybe next year we may need to tone it down a bit...or at least group the celebrations closer together! Oh well, you only get a birthday once a year, right? Might as well do it up big. :)
